The Leon Valley Historical Society is delighted to announce its front porch restoration project is complete!  A Last Nail Ceremony was held on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the Homestead to officially recognize the long-awaited community dream.  City officials, sponsors, contributors and community members helped share in the joy.

 

The project was made possible by the generosity of the Barnes, Brown and Carney families, descendants of Joseph Huebner; the Daughtry Family, descendants of Henry Daughtry, third mayor of Leon Valley; many community donors and the San Antonio Conservation Society.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The next project will be to restore the gravesite of Joseph Huebner.  Details about that will be shared in the future.
